This May, from 2 – 6 May, I’ll be surviving off just £1 a day for all of my food. But because this is not enough, I also decided to prep for the campaign and Live Below the Line this week – from 17 – 21 April.
Do you think this is an impossible challenge? Well this is actually the challenge faced by 1.4 Billion people all around the world every day. For them, this £1 a day is not only for food and drinks but also for shelter and for accessing education and health services. When you have £1 a day the challenges you face are a matter of life and death. This is not acceptable and this is why we need to take action. I believe the world has the means, both financial and technological to end extreme poverty. What is lacking is the political will to do so. This is why I decided to take on this incredible challenge and help raise money for supporting the work of a great organisation called RESULTS UK. RESULTS UK empowers ordinary citizens like you and me to bring about change in national and international politics.
I have always felt, as a global citizen, that there was something I had to do to fight global injustice and poverty. I think taking part in Live Below the Line is definitely a step in the right direction. I would strongly encourage you to join the campaign and help fundraise for RESULTS!
